Your clipboard, kept private

ClipSync is built so the most personal things you copy — passwords, codes, links, notes — stay yours. Here’s exactly how that works, in plain language.

Encrypted at rest

Your clipboard contents and files are encrypted with AES-256-GCM before they’re written to the database. The raw bytes on disk are unreadable without the key.

Scoped to your account

Every item belongs to one user. All reads and writes are checked against your signed-in account, so you only ever see your own clipboard — never anyone else’s.

No email, minimal data

You sign up with a username and password — no email, no phone number. There’s simply less about you for anyone to leak.

Hardened sessions

Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. Sessions are signed JWTs stored in httpOnly cookies, and login attempts are rate-limited.

Being honest about the trade-offs

ClipSync uses encryption at rest, not end-to-end encryption. To make search and list previews fast, a short, truncated plaintext preview of text items is stored alongside the encrypted copy. That means a database administrator could in principle see those previews. If you need zero-knowledge guarantees for a specific secret, treat any cloud clipboard — including this one — accordingly. We’d rather tell you than pretend.
